Case Reports International - Journal for publishing high quality case reports

Why New Journal?
Case Reports International

Why did we start a journal dedicated to publishing only case reports?

In August 2012, we started a new academic journal titled Case Reports International. This is the second journal for case reports published by Edorium Journals.

The "International Journal of Case Reports and Images (IJCRI)" which was started in 2010, was born of necessity to provide authors with a forum where they are welcome to submit reports of unusual cases and atypical presentation of common cases.

During the past few years, many international journals have stopped accepting case reports for publication due to which it has become very difficult to publish interesting and unusual cases in international, peer reviewed journals. Also, medical residents start their scientific publishing career, in majority of cases, by publishing a case report. With the constraints for space in print journals, it becomes difficult for the residents to get their manuscripts published and in their situation, this can be very discouraging. International Journal of Case Reports and Images (IJCRI) was started to give everyone, from residents to specialist physicians and surgeons, a platform for publishing unique cases. As a special consideration for students and residents, the journal publishing fee for International Journal of Case Reports and Images (IJCRI) was intentionally kept very low as compared to other journals.

Our experience of publishing International Journal of Case Reports and Images (IJCRI) since last two years and our daily and extensive interaction with authors, editors and reviewers has prompted us to start Case Reports International. Please read below the important distinguishing features between Case Reports International and International Journal of Case Reports and Images.

1Any manuscript is considered submitted for publication to Case Reports International and included in the manuscript review and publication process only after a manuscript ID is assigned to the manuscript and emailed to the authors. Authors will be kept updated of the publication timeline at regular intervals. We estimate that the authors will take 07 days to send the revised manuscript, 03 days to make the payment and 02 days to send the corrected page proofs to the Editorial Office. If time taken by the authors to send the revised files or corrected page proofs exceeds the estimated time and/or the manuscript requires technical revision or more that one round of editorial review, peer review, revision or proof corrections; the time for first decision and publication will increase correspondingly. If waiver of article publication charges is given for any manuscript, refund policy and these conditions will not apply. We will make all efforts to honor our commitment, however, the given conditions will not apply in unforeseen circumstances beyond our control such as natural disasters and hardware and software problems. These conditions may be modified at any time without prior notice or warning. In such a case a notice to this effect will be published on this page.

Note: All manuscripts submitted to either Case Reports International or International Journal of Case Reports and Images (IJCRI) will undergo stringent editorial review followed by double blind peer review. In the double-blind peer review process neither the reviewers nor the authors know the identity of each other. This enables an unbiased and accurate review of the manuscript.
